Meet Dr. James Swick

Dr. Swick is so easy to talk to! It's one of the things that make his patients super comfortable with him. Of course, he's also well-qualified and completes at least 40 hours of continuing education each year.

He earned his DDS from West Virginia University School of Dentistry, and did a year-long residency in Richland Memorial Hospital. He’s a member of AGD, ADA, Greater Columbia Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, International Association of Orthodontics, and The American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Swick also completed the year-long American Academy of Implant Dentistry comprehensive continuing education course to bring the best methodology in implant placement to his patients.

When he’s not in his office, he enjoys being active outdoors, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, following his children's activities.

Patti has worked in dentistry since 1973 and she loves it as much today as she always has. She’s been with SmileCare since 2011, and is just thrilled to be part of a team that is so genuine, that takes its time to provide the best care, and that offers enjoyable experiences. When Patti’s away from work, you’ll catch her gardening, reading, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren

Joesy - Licensed Dental Hygienist

Joesy has been with us at SmileCare since 2012. Before that, she was on active duty for the US Army. Now, she gets a thrill from seeing people change their oral hygiene habits after she teaches them; she loves making a difference. She enjoys being part of the team, and is proud of the atmosphere we create here for the patients. She loves her job. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her in the gym, or hanging out with her family.

Heather  
Financial Coordinator

Heather moved from Ohio to South Carolina in 2011.  She has a passion for the criminal justice field and earned a degree in Criminal Justice with Honors.  Prior to SmileCare, Heather worked in banking for 2 years.   Heather started with SmileCare in 2016 where she serves as the financial coordinator.  Being new to the dentistry world, she’s happy being a part of a great team and learning about new things.  When she’s not at the office, she loves spending time with her family, traveling and reading.

Gricelda joined our practice in October 2019. She is a graduate from Midlands Technical College Hygiene program. When she is away from the office, she enjoys traveling and exercise.

 

Michele - Accountant & Office Coordinator

MICHELE
ACCOUNTANT & OFFICE administrator

Michele attended Winthrop University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has been with our practice since 2012. She is essential to our smooth operation as she handles many, many details. She appreciates working for such a warm, friendly dentist in a family atmosphere. When she’s not here at the office, she enjoys digital scrapbooking, exercising, and volunteering in a local church.

Ashley                     Dental Assistant 

Ashley joined our practice in July of 2021. Before she found our team, she had been working as a surgical veterinary assistant. When she is away from the office, you’ll find her spending time with her family and kayaking.
